Primary Responsibilities
- Support the development, review, and coordination of acquisition and milestone-related documentation.
- Draft, update, and maintain program acquisition documents such as acquisition plans, acquisition strategy reports, procurement initiation documentation, performance work statements, funding documents, CDRLs, and baseline documentation.
- Review program procedures, practices, and documentation for alignment with contract requirements, mission needs, and applicable acquisition guidance.
- Support preparation for program reviews, milestone events, review boards, conferences, and recurring government meetings.
- Develop briefs, point papers, reports, correspondence, meeting materials, and action-item responses for government review.
- Analyze program documentation and provide recommendations to improve clarity, completeness, compliance, and traceability.
- Coordinate with technical, contracting, financial, logistics, and program management stakeholders to support acquisition execution.
- Track documentation status, suspense dates, data calls, and required approvals.
- Support acquisition planning activities across the program lifecycle, including requirements definition, contract planning, and execution support.
- Participate in meetings and working groups and provide clear notes, inputs, and follow-up actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience or Master's Degree
- Over 10 years of experience performing duties similar to the functional description.
- 5 years of experience supporting Naval aviation or comparable DoD aviation acquisition programs, including ACAT acquisition milestone documentation.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to work effectively with government, military, and contractor stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional briefs, reports, and correspondence.
Education Substitution
- Associate’s degree plus four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a master’s degree.
- Six additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a master’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting ACAT programs or major defense acquisition programs.
- Familiarity with DoD 5000-series and SECNAV acquisition guidance.
- Experience preparing acquisition documentation for aircraft, weapons, mission systems, or aviation support programs.
Work Environment
- This position supports a Department of War aviation acquisition program and may require on-site support at a government or contractor facility.
- The role requires frequent coordination with government customers, contractor teammates, and cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Work products may include program documentation, briefings, reports, schedules, financial inputs, action item trackers, and meeting support materials.
